Paul Patrick

Before we even start this biography let's get one thing clear. My name is Paul Patrick and I'm simply going to try to keep it as real as possible. You are not going to see any fancy words in this bio & I'm NOT a fan of these third person biographies that artists write about themselves using phrases like " amazing talent" or "taking the scene by storm" or even "the hottest up & coming dj."

I was born in New Jersey and was exposed to dance music when I was pretty young. When I was 12 years old my older brother was 17 and he was just getting into the dance scene. He would bring back cd's from all the big NYC Mega-Clubs like Tunnel, Sound Factory, Exit, etc etc. One day I heard him playing this sound that was unheard of to me, and I was instantly hooked! My musical influences really are endless. I could write pages of artists and groups who influenced me so I'll keep it short & sweet.Everything from Mo-Town to Disco, to Old Skool Hip Hop, to R&B, and Classic & Modern Rock has influenced me. (I never was into freestyle) As far as influences regarding electronic dance music: When I first got into EDM, I loved that NYC Hard-House sound that was so popular. But I also was into hard trance and alot of my earlier influences include artists like Scot Project, Cosmic Gate, DJ Dean, & Armin Van Burren. Coming from New Jersey obviously I was influenced by the NYC Legends aswell: Danny Tenaglia, Junior Vasquez, Johnny Vicious and even Jonathan Peters. I was a big fan of dance music when I was younger, but it wasn't until I started going out to clubs all the time that I realized I wanted to be a DJ. Seeing how one person (the DJ) could have the whole crowd in the palm of his hand was amazing to me. The DJ has complete control of the vibe, we can could make the crowd go crazy or we could completely dissapoint the crowd. DJs even can control the emotions of the crowd, which just fascinated me. I started dj'ing in the Fall of 2005 and not to hype myself up but I like to think that I picked it up quicker than most and I like to think that I am on the right path to making a name for myself. In less than 2 years I have spun at some of the biggest venues in NYC such as Pacha, Gypsy Tea, & Providence. I also have performed at numerous venues across the tri-state area: all over New Jersey and in Long Island aswell. But my I feel my biggest fame to claim to was my debut at Winter Music Conference 2007. When I started djing less than 2 years ago, never would I have imagined in a million years that I would be asked to DJ @ WMC so soon. None the less playing at the same event (The Clevelander) as some of my biggest influences Peter Bailey & Superchumbo! My style today has evolved and will always continue to evolve as I personally feel every DJ should. I dont like being classified as a dj of one genre. (ex: "hes a tribal dj" or "hes a techno dj") Depending on my mood, the crowd, venue, etc. my style contains just about every form of HOUSE MUSIC. My main love is harder, darker, deeper genres like Tech-House, Techno, Minimal, & Tribal, but at times I might just throw down some progressive, electro, and even funky soulful house. Some of my more recent influences include DJ's and artists such as Victor Calderone, Peter Bailey, Steve Lawler, DJ Vibe, Radio Slave, Chris Liebing, the list could go on and on. PLAIN & SIMPLE: House music is my passion. I have put countless hours of work into making myself better each & every day and its so rewarding to see that slowly but surely my hard-work and dedication is paying off.
